St. Erik Medical Center Launches Campaign to Build First Medical Clinic in Tumarbong, Roxas, Palawan
Tumarbong, Roxas, Palawan, October 2024 – St. Erik Medical Center is urgently calling for support to address the critical healthcare gap in Tumarbong, Roxas, Palawan. This remote community of over 5,000 people is in desperate need of accessible medical care, with the nearest hospital hours away. Residents lack basic healthcare, including emergency services and maternal care, leading to preventable health complications.
“Our goal is to raise $1.6 million (PHP 89.6 million) to build and equip the first medical clinic in Tumarbong. Immediate action is needed to prevent further health crises in the area,” said Roche Beran, VP of Marketing & Operations at St. Erik Medical Center.
Without a nearby medical facility, residents are forced to travel long distances for even minor health issues, which can lead to worsening conditions. The planned clinic will provide essential services, including outpatient care, maternal health services, and emergency response.
Why Immediate Action is Needed:
With no healthcare infrastructure, the people of Tumarbong face life-threatening risks every day. Many have no means to access timely medical care, and emergencies are often fatal due to the lack of nearby facilities. The clinic will serve as a vital resource for the community, offering both preventive and life-saving healthcare.
